Build Details & Information

Hello! I am Brother Chris and I have been playing Lost Ark since its western release in February 2022. This is meant to be an introductory guide to quickly get you up to speed for a raid/pve Control Glaivier so you can spend less time reading and more time furiously pressing your buttons on your keyboard.

Class Introduction

Control Glaivier removes the stance swapping capabilities of the Glaivier in return for additional damage on your blue stance skills. Control Glaivier is a very fast paced, spammy, or 'piano' class that loves swiftness more than I love buying skins I don't need. How would I describe Control Glaivier in 3 words? Spammy back attacker.

Pros
  • Always have something to press
  • Fast movement
  • Straightforward to play
Cons
  • Can have some MP issues without C+J or mana food
  • Very uptime reliant

Rotation

Control Glaivier has a mostly spammy press whatever lights up playstyle though there is the conviction and judgment combo to keep in mind while you're playing. Shackling Blue Dragon is your massive party synergy and crit debuff, you want to try and drop it before you use your heavy hitting Raging Dragon Slash. Your awakening Yeon-Style Spear Technique: Spear Meteor is just a big nuke that has a small windup time, you can just throw it out as you please and hope for the best or save it for times where you know you'll be able to land it fully.

A start of fight rotation would look something like this.

  1. Chain Slash
  2. Half Moon Slash
  3. Wheel of Blades
  4. Shackling Blue Dragon
  5. Raging Dragon Slash
  6. Chain Slash
  7. Stampeding Slash

After this it becomes much more whatever is off cooldown press it kind of playstyle. I typically hold Wheel of Blades and Half Moon Slash to pair together in order to proc our conviction and judgment combo as we need it for the mana restoration and the cooldown reduction can be nicely utilized with Shackling Blue Dragon. Chain Slash is a very low cooldown ability that you should be trying to press as soon as it comes up - your main filler skill along with Chain Slash is going to be Stampeding Slash so if 2 skills are up prioritize the others over your filler.

Engravings

The setup listed here is what is generally considered the meta engraving setup for Control Glaivier. If you have the money and want to go for a 5x3 +1 setup the +1 is best filled with Adrenaline.

Engraving priority would be something like Control > Ambush Master > Grudge > Raid Captain > Cursed Doll

Stats

Stats are as easy as they come. We want swiftness. Lots of it. All of it. Get as much swiftness as possible and on your necklace as a secondary we want crit.

Swiftness: 1600
Crit: 550

Is what I have on my Control Glaivier, this is with relic accessories and a bracelet and all potions unlocked from horizontal content.

Relic Set

We are a back attack class and as we all know that means we have one choice for relic set which is Entropy. Entropy scales our back attack damage even more and gives us some needed crit rate.

Skills

Some people dislike Stampeding Slash as a filler skill and replace it with Windsplitter. Ultimately I think it's up to preference and if you want to play around with a flex skill slot, Stampeding Slash is your flex slot.

Runes

For runes they're pretty flexible as we don't really need Galewinds on our skills as we are already very fast - the only thing I would suggest not touching is the Conviction and Judgment combo as it's super helpful in dealing with the MP issues that can come from playing Control.

Card Sets

Control can utilize Lostwind Cliff well enough as our crit isn't sky high, though as always the ultimate end game will be Light of Salvation 18 awakening or higher.
